I have just finished reading your book (couldn't put it down once I started). I wanted to say what a wonderful family you are. I feel very humbled after reading it and have so much admiration for you.
I have been working with children on the autistic spectrum in a resource base within a mainstream school for 12 years. I had become very aware that we weren't able to meet the needs of some of our children and to me it felt wrong that we were having to do it.
Every child has a right to education but it must take their particular needs into account (all comes down to money as usual). As you say in your book we are sadly lacking in places like "Hope Lodge".
I am now however very excited as just 2 weeks ago I joined a brand new school in Shropshire that has been specifically designed to cater for young people at the severe end of the Autistic Spectrum. It is truly a wonderful place with a very caring and dedicated staff. I am in the middle of my 5 week induction training at the moment, it has been great so far. I will be telling my fellow inductees all about your book on Monday, I know they will find it very interesting and useful.
I am pleased to read about Christopher's progress and I'm sure there will be much more to come. Wishing you every happiness for the future.
